Berlin's "Revolutionary May Day" demonstrations have become remarkably peaceful in 2024-2025 due to two key changes.
First, the march's endpoint relocated from Oranienplatz via Kottbusser Tor ("Kotti") to Südstern. Second, police have been more restrained since the move to Südstern.
The results are striking. In 2021 there were 354 arrests and 93 injured officers. Those numbers plummeted to just 7 arrests and 3 injuries in 2025.
